The Backpack Vacuum Cleaner - Cleaning Places Once Out Of
Reach
Certainly they are not for everyone, but a backpack
vacuum cleaner has some distinct advantages over the
more popular upright or canister vacuums. Perhaps the biggest
of these advantages is that it may just enable you to reach
places that were almost impossible to get to before. It's
certainly worth trying out to see if you like it better.
You might think that walking around wearing a backpack would
be physically draining, and depending on your age and condition
it may be. But for the most part the backpack portion of the
vacuum is lightweight, usually weighing somewhere close to 10
pounds. But the light weight of the backpack is not a reason to
buy this vacuum. The best reason is you may be able to clean
like you've never cleaned before. You can reach high places
previously out of reach. That means shelves, blinds and ceiling
corners will no longer have ugly cobwebs.
Even stairs are easier with a backpack vacuum cleaner. If
you've ever tried to clean the stairs with an upright or
canister you know what a pain it is to lift it up one stair at
a time. And once you finished you were probably disappointed
with the results. Well with a backpack you don't have to worry
about whether you will run out of hose before you get to the
top like you do with a canister. You just walk up one step at a
time, and use the hose and whatever attachment you feel is best
suited for the job. And if you think you need to change
attachments in the middle of the job, most models will hold the
different tools right in the belt, making changing them out a
simple task.
Here's something to consider however before you make your
purchase. Yes you want to look at the price and the weight of
what you'll be carrying around. But you also need to know if
the machine is powerful enough to do a good job, what kind of
filtration it uses, what attachments it has and how well it
controls the airflow. A backpack vacuum cleaner is an expensive
piece of equipment. Make sure you are getting a good one before
you spend all that money.
