The Vacuum Cleaner Bag Or A Bagless Vacuum - Which Do You
Prefer?
Is the vacuum cleaner bag a thing of the
past?
Well truthfully, there are plenty of options when it comes
to vacuuming your home, and whether or not you use a vacuum
with a bag is certainly a matter of choice. Of course if you're
using an older vacuum, chances are you are still using bags.
But there are plenty of reasons to switch to a new bagless
vacuum.
Admittedly, not matter what you choose you still have to
empty the vacuum. And changing a vacuum cleaner bag is not all
that difficult, although it can be a bit messy if you don't
know what you're doing. But think of it in terms of steps.
Obviously you don't want to rip the bag when changing or your
floor will be worse than it was before you vacuumed. You have
to gently take the bag from the case and toss it into the trash
can. You have to be sure that the replacement bag is the right
one for your vacuum, they are certainly not one size fits all.
It must match the brand and model you are using. Then you have
to carefully and firmly fit the bag over the opening in the
hose. Finally you can start to clean again.
Certainly not all that difficult, but it is efficient?
Many newer model vacuums don't use bags. Typically they
collect the dust and dirt into a canister or some other cup.
Normally they are clear, so you'll know exactly when it needs
to be emptied. No more guessing if the bag is full. Just
remember not to let it get too full or things will get really
messy when your vacuum blows the excess dirt back out. Here's
another advantage. Did you ever accidently vacuum up something
like a ring, then have to rip apart the bag to try and find it?
Talk about a mess. With a canister or cup it will be much
easier to find and retrieve.
And cost will likely not be a factor in your decision to go
with a bag or bagless vacuum. Generally they cost about the
same. So really your decision comes down to which ever method
you prefer. But it seems like more and more people are choosing
a model without a vacuum cleaner bag.
